The Beginning

Two college buds quit their city jobs to start a slice shop at Virginia Tech (circa 2011). Not a cheap dirty one or a fancy pricey one but a simple pizza shop that respected it’s downtown and the great American art of pizza making.

Benny's Pizza

Benny's began in a small town that loves giant pizza. Since 2011, we have grown into 35 more great towns with unique shops serving giant pizza at the highest value. Each Benny’s has its own identity and its own chill vibe reflecting the downtowns that we call home. Come out, grab a drink, embrace the culture, and find out why 28” pizza is the perfect size for slices.

Who is Benny?

Benny’s Pizza was inspired by the legacy of a humble pizza maker whose passion for community and craft still shapes everything we do today.

Benedito, “Benny,” was born in the old country, raised in Brooklyn, and spent his youth in the kitchen of Tiro A Segno (the century-old Italian gun-club of Manhattan). He worked under countless Italian chefs and served a generation of city leaders and cultural icons.

Unknown circumstances forced him to leave the city and land in a small town on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. He began making pizza pies for his neighbors out of a custom backyard brick oven. He truly was a man of the people.

Benny's Legacy

Three decades later and Benny continues to serve his community with his signature 28” pies. He has been an inspiration to us here at “Benny’s” and a driving force behind our restaurant’s personality and recipes. His anonymity is important which is why every “Benny’s” has a different name reflecting the town it is within.
